What We Do
Our Vision
Our Vision
LoneStarTrust is dedicated to be an innovator in helping those recently incarcerated to become viable and productive members of society once again. We will do this by making sure that:
1. By offering permanent housing to those with long parole sentences, as well as to those that are progressing through the system. The goal is to have our residence to become self-sufficient, moving on to their own dwelling once they are able.
2. The donations that we receive will be used to help keep our rental cost lower than the average rental rate for the metro area that we serve. Thus, ensuring that we are able to help even those who are on a fixed or lower income.
3. The tenants are vested in the home where they are living which will help enable them to feel as though they have an interest in seeing that the property is well maintained and in good repair at all times. This will be accomplished by;
a. Encouraging the tenants to help in maintaining the yard or surrounding area.
b. Having a weekly chore list/rotation where individuals will be expected to help maintain the interior of the property. (dusting, vacuuming, dishes, laundry, cleaning of rooms such as bathroom, main living area, bedroom, etc.)
c. By working with management, reporting maintenance issues so they can be addressed in a timely manner.
4. By being self-sufficient, the rental receipts and donations for that property are adequate to handle the mortgage, utilities, repairs, maintenance, and/or improvements as needed.
LoneStarTrust is motivated to maintain partnerships with other organizations such as; Church Groups, Food Pantries, Charities and other non-profit organizations. This networking will enable us to provide services such as Mentoring, Job Placement, Food Assistance, Bus Passes, Cell phones (when available), Vouchers for clothing. and assistance in applying for State and Federal Benefits.
Mission Statement
Our Mission
LoneStarTrust was established in January of 2020 in order to provide a way for persons returning to the community from incarceration to have affordable housing in a Christian environment, away from the pitfalls that can accompany those recently released. The objective is to provide housing in a homelike atmosphere, where these individuals can readjust to the community, find peace and begin to thrive once more as productive members of society.
The goal of providing affordable housing to these individuals can be met within the community by purchasing homes (not halfway houses) in regular neighborhoods where there is a sense of community involvement and pride.
Those who are willing can thrive in a Christian environment where there are peers and believers to help nurture those who are struggling with their faith. Clients can find help and encouragement in their daily walk, the peace, not only physical but mental, spiritual peace that is desired by all.
LoneStar is committed to establishing a network of agencies and employers who will actively engage in helping those recently incarcerated. It’s not a handout but a hand up. By helping those clients that are in need of job placement, food assistance, clothing assistance or even help with State and\or Federal benefits, these individuals will begin their journey back into being productive members of society.
With these goals in place and with community support from those such as yourselves, LoneStarTrust will strive to reintegrate clients, welcoming them home to a place that is safe, warm and welcome.
